Laura Gibson-Lamothe is Executive Director of the Georgia Fintech Academy, a University System of Georgia initiative connecting students across the state with careers in fintech and financial services. Under her leadership, the Academy has reached more than 14,000 students and built partnerships with leading banks, payments companies, fintechs, and technology firms. 
 
Laura brings more than 20 years of experience across banking, payments, fintech, risk, and technology, with previous roles at Bank of America, Wachovia/Wells Fargo, Ally Bank, Protiviti, and Featurespace. 
 
She also serves on the boards of FinTech Atlanta, the TAG Fintech Society, and PayTech Women. Laura was named the 2024 Women in Technology Woman of the Year in STEAM and has been recognized among Georgia Trend’s Georgia 500 Most Influential Leaders. She hosts Fintech Talks, where she explores the people and ideas shaping financial technology.
