The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is a U.S. government agency. We aim to make consumer financial markets work for consumers, responsible providers, and the overall economy. We enforce federal consumer financial law to ensure that markets for consumer financial products are fair, transparent, and competitive. The Small-Dollar and Installment Lending Market tracks and monitors these consumer markets by engaging with industry on both new and traditional personal loan products. We bring industry perspectives to the Bureau for policymaking and serve as internal subject matter experts. We also engage with consumer groups and other regulators.
