President TrueML
Steve Carlson is the President of TrueML, an industry-leading fintech software company developing AI and data driven products that enable intelligent, digital communication and prioritize customer experience for consumers seeking financial health. He has experience as an entrepreneur and leader at VC- and PE-backed lenders and fintechs serving both consumers and businesses, as well as serving as a consultant and advisor to numerous PE/VC investment firms. Prior to TrueML, Steve served as CEO of ForwardLine Financial and was the co-founder of Ascend, where he led a team in defining the next generation of consumer lending through the use of behavioral economics and real-time, post-acquisition data.
The former head of marketing and business development at Intuit Financial Services (Mint.com and Quicken), Steve has also held senior executive roles at HSBC and Washington Mutual, and advised global financial services firms as co-founder of Sung Carlson Associates. He is actively involved on the regulatory front, including having served as an inaugural member of the CFPB’s Consumer Advisory Board, among other roles.
